The first lecture of the “Fulbright Program – American Art History” series was held on Nanshan Campus yesterday! This series of lectures is co-hosted by our university’s School of Arts and Humanities and the China Academy of Art Library.

The series consist of two parts: American Art & Architecture and Great American Artists &Their Influences. Dr. Janetta Benton from the USA is the professor that will be giving the lectures. She will guide participants in how to approach the work of notable American artists and art created in the United States.

The Fulbright Program is a competitive American scholarship program that provides merit-based grants for international exchanges to students, scholars, teachers, professionals, scientists and artists, founded by the United States Senator, J. William Fulbright, in 1946.

At the insistence of Professor Zhang Jian, the curator of our library, we apply for the Fulbright-Terra Foundation Awards for teaching and research in China. Additionally, in 2016, CAA became one of only three Chinese universities having joined the program, after the Peking University and Tsinghua University.
