The EDNA Joint Institute of China Academy of Art (NACAA) was established in April 2022 with the approval of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China (Approval No. MOE33FRA01DNR20222291N). It is the first Chinese-foreign cooperative education institute at China Academy of Art to operate as a non-independent legal entity. NACAA is defined by three key features: international orientation, interdisciplinary, and the integration of education, research, and industry. It offers three dual-degree undergraduate programmes in Art and Technology, Environmental Design, and Product Design, as well as a dual-degree master's programme in Art and Technology. The Institute has an annual student body of 300 undergraduates and 90 master's students, recruited from eight provinces and municipalities, with a primary concentration in the Yangtze River Delta and further reach into the Greater Bay Area, Fujian, Shandong, and other economically robust regions.

Drawing on the deep integration of high-quality resources from both China and France, NACAA takes the mutual empowerment of art and technology as its core academic approach. It regards the development of an internationally oriented and interdisciplinary faculty as a key foundation for talent cultivation. The Institute continues to advance mutual faculty recognition, joint programme development, and collaboration across education, research, and industry. Through the "Co-Dao" academic brand and immersive co-creation workshops, NACAA promotes the integration of art and technology and strengthens collaboration across departments. At the same time, NACAA works closely with Entrée du Consulat Général de France à Shanghai, leading art and design institutions worldwide, and internationally recognised design organisations. Through these partnerships, the Institute continues to develop an international collaborative platform for education.

Grounded in the contemporary development of design education in China, NACAA is committed to building a new and exemplary model of Chinese-foreign cooperative education. The Institute will continue to foster a new landscape defined by mutual learning between China and abroad, the integration of art and technology, and collaborative innovation. It aims to cultivate interdisciplinary design professionals with global vision, innovative thinking, and strong practical capability.
