·Cultural Heritage Conservation and Revitalization
This course is an applied design practice course guided by professional theory. It encourages students to develop a multi-dimensional understanding of cultural heritage, and to systematically master the principles and methodologies for transforming traditional cultural resources into design language, as well as effective approaches for conservation and adaptive reuse. On this basis, students conduct thematic research and practical design work in heritage revitalization. The teaching emphasizes a balanced integration of theory and practice, establishing a three-stage progressive structure of “Knowledge Acquisition - Thematic Research - Design Revitalization.” The course is supported by academic research, university-industry collaboration, thematic field investigations, and online learning components. It has been recognized as a National First-Class Online Undergraduate Course.

·History of World Design
This course systematically examines the interactive relationships between design forms worldwide and their corresponding historical periods, regions, economic conditions, cultural contexts, and social life. It elucidates the underlying logic behind the evolution of design styles and, from a comparative perspective between China and the rest of the world, establishes a sound historical and artistic worldview through rational and scientific inquiry and exploration.
In teaching, equal emphasis is placed on the study of historical facts and research methodologies, with a strengthened focus on cultivating problem-awareness in design history studies. The course aims to develop students’ sharp critical and analytical thinking, thereby enhancing their comprehensive capacity to interpret, translate, and apply the language of design history and design perception in a flexible manner.

·Design Criticism
This course builds on students' prior study of design history and theory, equipping them with basic concepts, critical thinking, and logical reasoning in design research. The course centers on in-depth investigations into contemporary design phenomena and issues, engaging students in concrete critical practice and thereby expanding the dimensions of design research through applied critical inquiry. Teaching is carried out progressively through a variety of methods, including lectures, interviews, field investigations, and critical writing. The research process and its findings are presented in a published volume of outcomes, which aims to provoke open, socially-engaged reflection. In recent years, the forums and seminars organized around this course have received wide recognition from peer institutions and the academic community, and have exerted considerable influence within the field of design criticism in China.
