Program Overview

The Fashion and Accessory Design program offers three tracks—Fashion Design, Textile Design, and Interior Decorative Design—organized under two academic departments: the Fashion Design, and the Textile and Decorative Arts. Grounded in Oriental design principles, the program upholds the educational philosophy of revitalizing tradition, integrating art and technology, and advancing sustainable practices in fashion.

The Fashion Design track focuses on avant-garde fashion creation and brand management, building an interdisciplinary system that bridges art, business, and technology—cultivating innovative and entrepreneurial leaders in the fashion industry. The Textile Design and Interior Design tracks delve into traditional cultural heritage, exploring pattern aesthetics, material innovation, digital media, and spatial lifestyles across multiple dimensions. Textile Design integrates pattern, material, and technology to create innovative textile products, while Interior Design builds on decorative traditions to shape spatial aesthetics that resonate with both cultural depth and contemporary relevance. Each track, grounded in cross-disciplinary thinking, engages with real-world challenges in industry, culture, and society through design practice. Graduates are well-positioned for careers in fashion design, brand management, textile R&D, and interior design—with broad prospects for professional growth.

Department of Fashion Design

The Fashion Design Department focuses on research in avant-garde fashion design and the management of fashion brands with distinct value propositions. Centered on the cultural resources of Oriental design, it upholds the principles of revitalizing tradition, integrating art and technology, and embracing cross-disciplinary collaboration—with a strong commitment to sustainability as both social responsibility and value orientation. The program emphasizes creative innovation in fashion art, product development capabilities, commercial value, systematic design thinking, and comprehensive business management. Its goal is to build a world-class interdisciplinary research framework that bridges art, business, and technology, preparing students to become innovators, entrepreneurs, and leaders in fashion art and branding.

Department of Textile Design & Interior Design

Rooted in a rich cultural heritage, the Department of Textile Design & Interior Design takes a broad, forward-looking approach. Guided by Oriental design principles, it pursues multidimensional exploration across pattern culture and design aesthetics, tradition and revitalization, diverse techniques and technological innovation, art-tech integration and material innovation, digital media and design methods, and spatial aesthetics and lifestyle—expanding the boundaries of traditional disciplines. Through interdisciplinary collaboration, the department applies innovative design thinking to address contemporary technological, industrial, cultural, and social challenges. By integrating science and art, it explores collaborative innovation in textile design and interior design, cultivating forward-thinking talent with strong creative and integrative capabilities.

Textile Design

This direction transcends conventional notions of textile design, expanding its research scope through interdisciplinary approaches. It addresses contemporary challenges in technology, industry, culture, and society through innovative design thinking. Centered on pattern design and supported by textile craft techniques, it explores the collaborative innovation across pattern, material, and technology from an art–science integrated perspective.

Interior Decorative Design

The Interior Decorative Design is grounded in pattern studies and the traditions of decorative arts across historical periods. It is dedicated to reshaping spatial aesthetics, communicating spatial values, and creating spatial qualities that embody both cultural depth and contemporary spirit. Supported by an interdisciplinary knowledge system, its curriculum focuses on lifestyle, domestic aesthetics, spatial narrative, and spatial experience, exploring multidimensional relationships between people and people, people and environment, people and history and culture, people and technology, and people and nature.
