·Film Concept Design

As the starting point of film visual development, this course establishes the overall visual style of a film in its pre-production phase. The teaching is structured in two progressive stages: first, students build foundational skills in image composition and visual language through digital painting and AI image generation; second, they move into world-building—integrating geographical context, cultural history, stylistic tone, spatial characteristics, and visual elements—to complete a concept design project with a distinct personal style.

·Film Set Design and Construction

Grounded in industry-academia collaborative production projects, this course marks a critical transition from professional foundations to creative practice. Balancing industrial production standards with authorial expression, the course covers the complete set construction workflow—from production design and task breakdown to construction techniques—guiding students to master the principles of screen space and to translate design concepts into buildable sets.

·Film Prop Design and Fabrication

Working from the script and centered on narrative and character, this course covers the design and fabrication of both set dressing props and hand props. Students develop an understanding of the role of props in character development, spatial construction, cultural translation, and visual storytelling. They acquire a complete methodology from script analysis to prop system design, and become familiar with the standards of prop design and fabrication across different film genres.
