• Installation Construction

This course explores materials, found-object deconstruction and artistic composition, illustrating the importance of construction in public art. It sharpens students' material sensitivity, develops constructive modeling thinking, and trains them to apply new construction methods in their creative work. Through deconstruction and assembly exercises, students consolidate prior knowledge in spatial modeling and landscape design, laying a solid foundation for subsequent Public Art Creation and ensuring a coherent, well-structured undergraduate curriculum.

• Kinetic Installation

The course consists of two progressive stages. The first covers electromechanical fundamentals and operational safety, requiring students to complete kinetic devices independently. The second examines kinetic installation case studies and guides students to create small-scale electromechanical artworks, mastering technical approaches to diversify artistic expression. The two closely-integrated sessions systematically train mechanical modeling and improve spatial imagination and artistic innovation.

• Fundamentals of Multimedia Art Engineering

The course is structured around three integrated modules- theory, software and practice-integrating knowledge, technology, and hands-on creation. The theoretical module covers multimedia art history, media expansion and spatial narrative. The technical module provides audio-visual and interactive training, using digital tools through creative project proposals to explore tech-driven artistic expression. In practice, students create spatial narrative-based multimedia art projects by drawing on canonical texts, and employing light, sound, installation and interactive media.
