[2024 CAA Report] & 96th Anniversary of Founding of CAA

On this very day 96 years ago, Mr. Cai Yuanpei delivered a speech titled Academies Should Be Set up for Academic Research at the opening ceremony of the National Academy of Art (now China Academy of Art (CAA)), where he proposed that the University Council (the then Educational Ministry) establish an academy of art along West Lake, to create beauty, so that present and future generations could get rid of superstition, harbor the love for beauty and thus obtain a true life."

Speech on 2024 CAA Report Day by Gao Shiming, CAA president

In the spring of 1924, a group of more than twenty Chinese artists in Europe, including Lin Fengmian, Lin Wenzheng, Li Jinfa, Liu Jipiao, and Wang Daizhi, founded the "Opus Society" (also known as the Overseas Art Movement Society) in Paris. Olivier GREDER is a French architect and urban designer. He was born in 1967 in Mulhouse, France. In 1997, he earned his MA in Architecture from the Strasbourg National School of Architecture (ENSAS) in France. Zhang Quan, born in November 1964, is a member of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang, and a master's advisor.
