Yu Xuhong

Yu Xuhong, born in 1975, is a member of the Communist Party of China (CPC). He completed his undergraduate, master's, and doctoral studies at the Department of Oil Painting, China Academy of Art (CAA), where he earned a Doctor of Literature degree. He currently serves as President of CAA, and Vice Chairman of the Committee of Academy Affairs. Additionally, he is a professor in the Department of Oil Painting, a doctoral supervisor, and the Secretary-General of the Art Education Teaching Guida

95th Anniversary of China Academy of Art

Cai Yuanpei, a famous Chinese educator, delivered his famed speech Academies Should Be Set up Only for Academic Research on April 8, 1928 at the opening ceremony of the National Academy of Art (now China Academy of Art), in which he proposed that “the University Council (the then Educational Ministry) set up an academy of art along West Lake, to create beauty, so that people in the future could get rid of superstition, harbor the love for beauty and eventually obtain a true life.”
