He has been an instructor at CAA since 1992. Over the years, he has been dedicated to the research of fashion design and theory, and thus become a pioneer of creation, research and teaching in this field. Qian has published many monographs and papers on fashion design and hosted several research projects at the provincial and departmental levels.
