Inspection Team Evaluate and Feedback the Quality of the School’s Education over the Past Year
It’s CAA’s policy to have an inspection team evaluate and provide feedback on the quality of the school’s education over the past year, with the team viewing examples of courses, students' work, and teaching methods. Thirty-two core undergraduate courses were selected at the beginning of this year, and nine of them won“Erudite Craftsmen” gold class awards.

CAA Held a Calligraphy Activity to Welcome Year 2020
A large calligraphy activity was hosted on the Nanshan Campus of CAA in which dozens of calligraphy masters, students at CAA and several residents of Hangzhou came together to usher in a strong new year by writing the Chinese character “Fu”(福), meaning fortune to welcome Year 2020. The act has long been a Chinese tradition.

An exhibition displaying 32 outstanding core undergraduate courses opened at CAA’s Museum of Contemporary Art on Dec 30, including Chinese Art History, Paint or Sketch from Nature-Chinese Painting, Traditional Mural Painting, Art Appreciation, and Restoration. The exhibition will conclude on Jan 8.

A Calligraphy Exhibition Featuring CAA Professor Bai Di’s Work “Yan·Yan” Opened on Dec 28.
A calligraphy exhibition featuring CAA Professor Bai Di’s work –– “Yan·Yan” (Chinese Character: 嚴·巖) opened on Dec 28. The exhibition shows 60 versions of two Chinese characters “嚴·巖”. Bai is devoted to exploring new ways of expressing traditional Chinese culture. The exhibition will conclude on Jan 6, 2020.

Clasp Purse Making Workshop was hosted by CAA’s Crafts Museum
A Clasp Purse Making Workshop was hosted by CAA’s Crafts Museum on Dec 21. Participants were able to choose their favorite patterns and fabrics to make a purse of their own. The “Craft Art Workshop” is a public education program run by CAA’s Crafts Museum, aiming to engage the public in artistic activities and stimulate interest in traditional and craft art.

Xu Jiang’s Exhibition “A Tribute to Sunflowers” is being hosted at Shandong Art Museum
“A Tribute to Sunflowers”, an exhibition of Xu Jiang’s latest work, is being hosted at Shandong Art Museum until Feb23, 2020. It includes the thoughts of CAA’s president, Xu Jiang on the changes of time. The exhibition features a variety of art forms, including oil paintings, sculptures, watercolors, images, and videos. Entrance to the exhibition is free and it’s definitely worth a visit!

A Hangzhou-Tokyo-Vienna Exhibition “Gender Equality” was held
A Hangzhou-Tokyo-Vienna joint exhibition on the theme of “gender equality”, featuring over 100 poster designs by students from three schools - CAA in Hangzhou, Tama Art University in Tokyo, and the University of Applied Arts in Vienna - was held at the three schools simultaneously from Dec 3 to 13. This joint exhibition aimed to inspire students from different cultural backgrounds to express their ideas and reflect on social concerns.

CAA Professor Wu Haiyan Invited to exhibit her designs at Dubai Fashion Days
Wu Haiyan, CAA Professor and famous fashion designer, was invited to exhibit her traditional Chinese-style designs at Dubai Fashion Days, which ran from Dec 8 to 12, 2019. This is the fourth international tour stop of Wu’s design show, following Italy, Kyrgyzstan, and Greece. Wu hopes to spread Chinese culture through her designs.
