The “YOUNG to young” Successfully Concluded
The “YOUNG to young” International Collaborative Curriculum initiative concluded last week. Over the past month, 400 CAA freshmen have worked with mentors from home and abroad on many creative projects. Annual Graduation Exhibition Attracts Great Attention
The annual graduation exhibition of China Academy of Art was held on June 6. Per official statistics, the number of attendees visiting Nanshan Campus and Xiangshan Campus during the whole exhibition was up to 350,000. Residents and art lovers from all over the country poured into the exhibition during the Dragon Boat Festival, and the art gallery reached its visiting peak of over 30,000 visitors. The Solo Exhibition of Lin Haizhong will be on
The Solo Exhibition of Lin Haizhong will be on at Suzhou Museum from July 2 to Aug 18. Lin is a professor of Chinese painting at the CAA. He is a talented landscape painter and has produced a number of impressive works featuring his hometown of Hangzhou, as well as Suzhou in Jiangsu province.

The Microsoft Xiaoice Contemporary Art Exhibition is on
The Microsoft Xiaoice Contemporary Art Exhibition is being held at Liangzhu Center of Arts from June 15 to July 15. It displays the painting works created by Xiaoice, the AI chatbot of Microsoft, as well as VRimmersive works jointly created by new media artist Zhou Linwei and Xiaoice.

Paintings on Chinese fans
To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, CAA organized a painting activity earlier this month. Professors led students in painting different designs on Chinese fans to encourage them to keep working hard for the benefit of themselves and their country.

A paper cutting exhibition was launched at CAA’s Crafts Museum
A paper cutting exhibition was launched at CAA’s Crafts Museum on June 21, and it is set to last until Aug 18. Over 400 paper cuttings from 19 Chinese provinces, including Shanxi, Shaanxi and Anhui are on display at the event.  Chinese papercutting styles vary across the country and are often difficult to learn.Many of the designs symbolize good luck and the avoidance of evil. Paper and scissors are all you need to make a paper cutting, but sometimes an engraving knife is also used.Cl

An exhibition of work by Cheng Guqing is currently on at CAA’s Museum of Contemporary Art, which will last until June 30. Cheng has developed new ideas through his work based on traditional painting skills. Click on the photos below to see some of the exhibits.
