The CAA International Students Cultural & Artistic Exchange and Practice Base was founded at Xika Art Center in Hangzhou on June 18. To celebrate its opening, an exhibition of work by Serbian artist Svet Milu, who is also a visiting scholar at CAA, opened at the center.

Over 100 International Students attended an art event
More than 100 international students studying at CAA and Zhejiang University attended a three-day art event focusing on Chinese ink painting, calligraphy and modern art styles including animation in Hangzhou earlier this month. The event aimed to give international students the opportunity to learn more about traditional Chinese ink and wash art, as well as the ways in which traditional techniques can be combined with modern technology to help keep artistic traditions alive for the next gen

Wu Haiyan attend design exhibition in Kyrgyzstan
CAA’s Professor Wu Haiyan, who is also known for her fashion designs, was invited to attend the design exhibition in Bishkek, capital of Kyrgyzstan on June 9. The exhibition displays two sets of Wu’s designs, which represent classic Chinese style.

Xu Jiang's Exhibition is on in Russia
As one of a number of cultural projects being held to mark the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and Russia, a personal exhibition titled “Eastern Sunflower” containing artworks owned by CAA’s President Xu Jiang opened at the Русский музей/The State Russian Museum in St. Petersburg on June 6. It is set to conclude on July 8.

Students from School of Crafts are Exhibiting Their Creations
Students at CAA’s School of Crafts are currently exhibiting their creations at the academy’s graduation exhibition. It offers four majors – Ceramics, Glass, Jewelry and Lacquer Art Design. You may not recognize what materials they used for their work, but you will certainly be impressed.
