An Exhibition of Boxwood Carving is held at CAA Crafts Museum
Anyone interested in the art of carving should head down to CAA’s Crafts Museum, where a fascinating new exhibition is set to open today. Over 300 delicately-made boxwood carvings are on display, with all of the carvings produced by artists in Yueqing, Zhejiang province over the past 100 years. Boxwood carving was listed as a national intangible cultural heritage in 2006. The exhibition closes on June 12.

CAA held a Flag-raising Ceremony to celebrate the 91st Anniversary of China Academy of Art on April 9. On the same day, our university held the first alumni association meeting to strengthen alumni relations and advance alumni work.

CAA teacher-Ye Luying’s famous work was imported by German Publisher
At the 56th Bologna Children's Book Fair, Minedition, a German publisher that has been in business for more than 100 years, signed a copyright import agreement with CAA to import Ye Luying’s famous work “An Ode to the Goddess of Luo (Luoshenfu)”.The book, written by the young professor will be translated into three languages –– English, German and French, and will be published in France, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and North America.

Green Friday was held on April 5th
On Friday 5th April we held an event called Green Friday. Our first event of newly established International Students Club of China Academy of Art was held in Shanbei living area. Jin zhilin, Dean of the International College, also attended the activity. She and the teachers of the International College work with international students on garbage sorting. Germany's ambassador to China visited CAA
Germany's ambassador to China, Dr. Clemens von Goetze, led a delegation that visited the China Academy of Art in Hangzhou on Apr 2. He praised the exchanges and cooperation between CAA and the German universities, museums, artists and scholars.He hopes that CAA can play an important role in Sino-German higher art education and cultural exchanges.

Wang Shu and Lu Wenyu were awarded the 2019 TSD Gold Medal Award
Wang Shu, the famous architect and professor at CAA, and Lu Wenyu were awarded the 2019 Gold Medal Award by the Tau Sigma Delta Honor Society in Architecture and Allied Arts, which was presented at the 107th ACSA Annual Meeting on March 30. At the conference, professor Wang Shu delivered a keynote speech entitled “Architectural education experiment pointing to the real social reality”.The 107th ACSA Annual Meeting themed “BLACK BOX: Articulating Architecture's Core in the&
