Construction on CAA’s Liangzhu Campus officially started on Jan 11, the 151st anniversary of Cai Yuanpei’s birthday, who is the founder of the National Academy of Art (now is the CAA). Prof. Zhang Yong He, the first Chinese judge for the Pritzker Architecture Prize, was the lead designer of the campus.

CAA ranked third among Chinese mainland universities in terms of foreign media presence
CAA ranked third among Chinese mainland universities, just behind Peking University and Tsinghua University, in terms of foreign media presence, according to the "2018 Overseas Network Communication Ability of Chinese Universities" report recently released by Beijing Normal University and Cover Media.   The research team looked at 184 universities in China, including 141 Chinese mainland universities and 43 universities from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and analyzed their performance on six
