The Party to celebrate Winter Solstice Festival
The Winter Solstice Festival, which is this Saturday, is very important in China. On Dec 20, CAA’s students and professors gathered at the Nanshan Campus to celebrate the festival with a big dinner and some excellent performances, with the hot lamb soup warming everyone’s hearts.

The China Academy of Art published a series of books entitled “Merry & Magical Lectures on Chinese Painting” on Nov 29. This series aims to teach primary school students how to paint flowers, birds, fruits and vegetables using brushes.

The Xiangshan Art Commune will open soon
The Xiangshan Art Commune, designed by CAA professor Li Kaisheng, is the central component of Hangzhou’s Art & Creation Town. It will promote the development of art creation in Zhejiang province by hosting talented artists and blending creative studios with art exhibitions. There will be exhibitions, forum and press conference in the next few days.

Lisk Feng, made it onto the 2019 Forbes Art & Style 30 under 30 list
as from the Society of Illustrators and the Art Directors Club. “I’m surprised! As the only Chinese national on the list, I’m absolutely thrilled,” said Feng, “I insisted on painting for over 10 years, but I never thought that I would ever be recognized in such a major way.”

China Daily: A Tale of China Art Education
China Academy of Art, formerly known as the National Academy of Aft which was established in 1928, unveiled an exhibition From/To: The Frontier of Chinese Art Education, in San Francisco. The show aims to review the development of art and art education in China and beyond, and spark critical thinking and inquiry into the purpose and implications of art among a diversified audience. Joining forces with the San Francisco Art Institute(SEAL), its counterpart of three decades, CAA will run the exhib
