Graduation Gowns Designed by CAA
Since 2013, CAA has been designing their own graduation gowns, representing different things for each group of graduates. The tassels on trencher caps have been made in the shape of Chinese knots, with graduation gowns being made in different colors and with varying numbers of buttons. The green gown with four buttons is for undergraduates, representing four years of study at CAA. Quan Shanshi-A Master Oil Painter
Quan Shanshi, one of the most well-known professors at CAA, is a master oil painter in China. He has always said that Chinese artists need to find a way to create their own style of oil painting through learning about Western art. Professor of CAA Created Sculptures for Heroes
To memorialize the July 7 Incident of 1937, Zhai Qingxi, a professor in the Department of Sculpture at CAA, has created a group of 12 sculptures named “Heroes”. The sculptures were unveiled at the Zhejiang Exhibition Hall on July 6.

Du Haibin was invited to join the Academy's membership
Besides Prof. Liu Jian, Du Haibin -an associate professor at the School of Film and Animation at CAA -was also invited to join the Academy’s membership base in 2018 by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the organizer of the Oscars.   Prof. Du is a famous documentary director. His documentary “1428” won the Orizzonti Prize for Best Documentary at the 66th Venice Film Festival.

Duan Yanli, the youngest holder of a PhD in jewelry design in China, has the ability to make many different jewelry designs thanks to her knowledge and life experience. Zhou Wu Won the National Honorary Title
Professor Zhou Wu, dean of the School of Crafts at CAA, won the honorary title “Advanced Individual of Protecting National Intangible Cultural Heritage” recently.   Zhou, born in Longquan, Zhejiang province, a city famous for celadon, has devoted himself to the inheritance of making celadon.   It has been nearly 40 years since he learn the craft in the school when he was 16.   Since 1988, Biennial Exhibitions of Works by Contemporary Young Ceramists have been held for 20 years

The Ready-To-Wear Design course--tatting-oriented research is one of the important courses for undergraduates from department of Textile and Fashion Design. It aims to train an undergraduate to be an independent designer. The student needs to independently finish from conception, drawing to final works. Liu Jian and Academy Awards
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the organizer of the Oscars, extended invitations to 928 artists and executives on June 26. Those who accept the invitations will be the only additions to the Academy's membership in 2018.   Liu Jian, vice dean of the School of Film and Animation at CAA, is on the invitation name list. Last November, his animation film "Have a Nice Day" was awarded "Best Animation Feature" at the Golden Horse Awards.

International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking
June 26 is the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking. Wuhu Animation, a rapidly growing company founded by CAA graduates,has created a cartoon series for the day, called "X Task".   Inspired by the cartoon “Black cat Sheriff” in their childhood, they created a dog narcotics detective.
