Zao Wou-Ki’s artworks have garnered much attention and recognition from museums around the world. Zao Wou-Ki held solo exhibitions in museums around the world, including the Grand Palais, Galerie nationale du Jeu de Paume, National Art Museum of China, Shanghai Museum, and Suzhou Museum. His artworks are on show at world-class international museums all year round and are collected by over 150 museums across the globe. In September 2023, “The Way Is Infinite: Centennial Retrospective Exhibition of Zao Wou-Ki” saw its grand opening at the Art Museum of CAA, thus fulfilling one of Zao’s last wishes for a solo exhibition at his alma mater. “Zao Wou-Ki from the Perspective of Academia and Museums” gathers directors of art academies and museums from China and experts at home and abroad to explore the impact of Zao’s art on contemporary art education in art schools, museum exhibitions, collections and the contemporary art world through the lens of academia and museums.
