Chen Jieren
Visiting Professor, Institute of Artistic Perception and Visual Thoughts, CAA

Chen Chieh-Jen is a contemporary artist, born in Taoyuan, Taiwan in 1960. His works have since 2010 been focusing on topics including spiritual reconstruction in the post-network era.

Prof. Chen was invited to mount solo exhibitions at places including the Secession Building in Vienna, The Contemporary Art Museum of Luxembourg, Taipei Fine Arts Museum, REDCAT in Los Angeles, Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía (Queen Sofía National Museum Art Centre), and Jeu de Paume (Real Tennis Court).

Prof. Chen was also invited to hold joint exhibitions at La Biennale di Venezia (Venice Biennale), São Paulo Biennial, Lyon Contemporary Art Biennale, Liverpool Biennial, Göteborg International Biennial for Contemporary Art, Istanbul Biennial, Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art, Prospect New Orleans, the Biennale of Sydney, Taipei Biennial, Gwangju Biennale, Shanghai Biennale, Shenzhen Sculpture Biennale, Kochi-Muziris Biennale, Guangzhou Triennial, Fukuoka Asian Art Triennale and the Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art in Brisbane, as well as photo festivals in Arles, Spain and Lisbon.

Prof. Chen was also invited to host personal video shows as part of "movie sections" at exhibitions and institutions such as dOCUMENTA (13), Centre Pompidou, Mori Art Museum, and Tate Modern in London.
