Born in Pingdu, Shandong Province, Liu is the Deputy Director of Cultural and Creative Center. He was conferred with the Ph.D. Degree by the College of Computer Science and Technology, Zhejiang Province. After two years' postdoctoral research on design engineering, Liu joined CAA to work on industrial design. Liu primarily focuses on design cognition, design management, design knowledge and product forms. He has published more than 10 papers in Chinese first-class core journals, owned 4 software copyrights, 10 invention patents and 1 monograph.
Liu is a young and middle-aged academic leader for universities in Zhejiang Province, one of the third-tier talents of 151 Talent Program of Zhejiang, and a core member of the industrial design navigation team of CAA. His research interests fall in the cross field of art design and information engineering with the characteristic of scientific and artistic integration. He has presided over the project "Creative Knowledge Expression and Acquisition Method Based on Design Cognition" supported by the Youth Project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has also participated in the projects "Integrated R&D of Common Key Technologies for Creative Design", and “Research on Key Technologies for Cloud Service Platform of Industrial Design" funded by the National Science and Technology Initiative. Moreover, he has also presided over and participated in the subprojects "Research on the Collaborative Innovation of Smart Design” and “Theoretical Construct of Oriental Design" supported by the National Key Program of Social Sciences and Arts. Liu also carries out research on the fundamental subjects of design science, and is responsible for the key lab of integrated kitchen for smart healthy system of Zhejiang Province.
