Shadow is a functional game centered on somatosensory interaction. Through the Kinect sensor, the player controls the protagonist's shadow and helps the protagonist overcome challenges as they grow and mature. The game zooms in on the moments of loneliness during one's youth and revolves around the themes of love, companionship and growth. Beautiful, detailed visuals, well-composed music and a moving story come together in an immersive game, through which the player experiences the protagonist's shifting emotional states and journey toward adulthood and reflects on their own journey as they come to empathize with the protagonist and identify life lessons for themselves. Through the game, the creative team strives to draw attention to the challenges that beset a youth's journey toward adulthood as well as the importance of love and companionship during the journey.
Retrace

Retrace is a unique linear parkour game that incorporates dyslexia and sensory recovery to create an immersive, mysterious and emotionally rich dreamscape. As the player races forward, scenes gradually morph from black and white to clear, realistic backgrounds. Fragmented strings of text, the sound of hushed whispers and breathing, and a drifting boat hint at the mysterious stories within the dreamscape... When trapped in a dream that you cannot control, will you choose to give up and give in to the dream or find a way out? The wheel of life continues to roll on as you retrace your steps to the very beginning, where everything started. Will you find the answers you seek in this world?
Space Line

Space Line is a shoot 'em up game set in space. The game retells the story of Romance of the Three Kingdoms in a retro-futurist setting. The player plays an amnesiac fighter pilot and gets to experience a refreshing take on the space opera genre as they witness the battle for power among three major space colonies − the Wei, Shu and Wu colonies. In the game, the player can configure their fighter plane into different forms like how one maneuvers blocks in Tetris to activate different features, and immerse in the nostalgia for classic games while speeding through space. They tag along as the protagonist embarks on a grand space adventure to recover his missing memories and uncover the truth. The whole universe is before you, and your destiny is ahead of you. What are you going to do next?
Vine Growing

Vine Growing is an action and puzzle-solving game. The protagonist is the "dew" that was discharged by an invading alien star. After being purified by "lingze", an energy tree sap native to the planet, it gains the ability to sense the thoughts of invading machines as well as the ability to heal mechanical sickness. Equipped with his unique gifts, the protagonist embarks on a journey, dealing with contraptions that have been left behind by others while searching for the sealed memories of the planet. In the game, the player takes on the protagonist's perspective and witnesses a complex political battle on a planet caught in an extraterrestrial war while observing the varied lives of its generals. Compassion, loyalty, cunning, and obsession... An adventure of epic proportion slowly unfolds.
Kill the Horse

This artwork is a story about a person who is seeking a horse that is going to be killed. Dark storm clouds gather above a grassy hill where a group of people are discussing in hushed whispers how they are going to kill the horse. The protagonist awakes from their dream then. They seem to hear the sound of whipping in the distance. Thus begins their frenzied search for the horse.

About BRAIN GARDEN
Brain Garden – The 5th Zhijiang International Youth Art Festival 2023 & CAA Graduation Season kicked off online and offline concurrently on June 1. This edition of Youth Art Festival is co-hosted by Zhejiang Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education, Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, Publicity Department of the CPC Hangzhou Municipal Committee, China Academy of Art (CAA), and Zhejiang Conservatory of Music under the guidance of the Publicity Department of CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee and Hangzhou Municipal People's Government. The festival features a wide variety of online and offline artistic shows and activities centered on the future and the youth. It is a grand city-wide artistic feast in Hangzhou.
The Youth Art Festival is presented online on CAACOSMOS and West Lake Sky Screen and offline at six venues, namely Zhejiang Exhibition Hall, West Lake Art Museum, Zhejiang Art Museum, World Tourism Museum (1368 Xiangxi Road), Quan Shanshi Art Center, and Yichuang Town, with a total exhibition area of nearly 70,000 square meters. Over 3,000 works from more than 2,500 Class of 2023 graduates (including 1,766 undergraduates, 688 masters, and 97 doctors) are showcased. Over 2,000 young artists, designers, writers, and scholars have gathered online for this youthful art event.
