On the morning of July 3, the opening ceremony of "Benevolent Artist: Exhibition in Commemoration of the 120th Birth Anniversary of Zhu Lesan", which is jointly organized by the China Academy of Art (CAA), Xiling Seal Engraver's Society, Beijing Fine Art Academy, and the Government of Anji County, took place at the Art Museum of China Academy of Art. This exhibition features 120 artworks of the great artist, including poetry, calligraphy, paintings, and seal carvings. It is a comprehensive retrospective of Mr. Zhu Lesan's artistic journey across four stages of his life, namely, "Eight Years of Seeking the Tao and Living in Seclusion," "His Time in the Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts," "Reunion with Three Old Comrades in Zhejiang," and "Another Epiphany Moment in His Old Age".
Attendees of the opening ceremony include Jin Yibin, Chairman of the Committee of Academy Affairs; President Gao Shiming; Chen Zhenlian, Vice Chairman of China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, Vice President of Xiling Seal Engraver's Society; Piet Steel, Chairman of the Board of Europe-Asia Center; Wang Ping, Deputy Secretary-General of China Artists Association; Qin Tao, Deputy Director of the Affairs Committee of Xiling Seal Engraver's Society; Liu Zheng, Vice Chairman of the Committee of Academy Affairs at CAA; Fang Peixin, Secretary of Discipline Inspection Committee; Vice Presidents Shen Hao, Fu Qiaoling, Han Xu; Xu Guoqiang, Member of Committee of Academy Affairs and Director of Organization Department; Yu Xuhong, Member of Committee of Academy Affairs, Director of Publicity Department, and Director-General of Art Museum Group; Zheng Zhiwei, Former Director of Beijing Fine Art Academy Gallery; Luo Fudi, Representative of Government of Anji County; representatives of Mr. Zhu Lesan's family members; other distinguished guests in all walks of life; representatives from relevant teaching units and functional departments of CAA, as well as representatives from CAA schools.
Mr. Jin Yibin announced the commencement of the exhibition. Mr. Gao Shiming, Mr. Chen Zhenlian and Prof. Zhang Jie at the School of Chinese Painting of CAA, curator Mr. Lu Xin, as well as Mr. Zhu Min on behalf of the family of Mr. Zhu Lesan, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. The ceremony was hosted by Han Lu, Chairman of the Committee of Academy Affairs and Vice Dean of the School of Chinese Painting at CAA.
During the ceremony, Liu Zheng, Vice Chairman of the Committee of Academy Affairs, and Shen Hao, Vice President of CAA, presented the Zhu Lesan Scholarship to the recipients Lin Boqiang, Liu Yichen, Wang Enhao, and Zhu Yunan. Jin Yibin, Chairman of the Committee of Academy Affairs, accepted the donation on behalf of CAA and presented a certificate to Mrs. Song Meilu, the wife of Mr. Zhu Han.
Benevolent Artist: Exhibition in Commemoration of the 120th Birth Anniversary of Zhu Lesan will last through August 5.
