On the afternoon of July 3, the opening ceremony of "Abundance in Patriotic Spirit: Art Documents of Qin Dahu" kicked off at the Art Museum of China Academy of Art. The exhibition is hosted by the Zhejiang Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the China Academy of Art (CAA), organized by the Art Museum of CAA, Zhejiang Artists Association, School of Painting of CAA, and Zhejiang Academy of Oil Painting, and supported by the National Art Museum of China, Zhejiang Art Museum, Yantai Art Museum, the Affiliated High School of CAA, among other art schools.

Attendees of the opening ceremony include Yang Shouwei, Party Secretary, Vice Chairman, and Executive Secretary of the Secretariat of Zhejiang Federation of Literary and Art Circles (ZFLAC); Jin Yibin, Chairman of the Committee of Academy Affairs of CAA; Fang Peixin, Chairman of Discipline Inspection Committee of CAA; Shen Hao and Fu Qiaoling, Vice Presidents of CAA; Zhang Qing, Party Secretary of Zhejiang Shuren University; Mao Xuefei, former Chairman of the Committee of Academy Affairs of CAA; Ying Jinfei, Director of Zhejiang Art Museum; Wang Jian, Director of Zhejiang Exhibition Hall; Chang Qing, President of Zhejiang Academy of Oil Painting; Gao Fagen, former Vice President of CAA; and professors at CAA including Ma Yuru, Jin Yide, Bai Renhai, Pan Yaochang, Yang Hualin, Weng Danxian, Zhang Xiaoming, and Zhao Yan. Mr. Qin Dahu, along with his wife, Mrs. Qin Yuying, and their family members, friends and students, participated in the ceremony. Yu Xuhong, Party Committee Member and Secretary of the Secretariat of ZFLAC, Member of the Committee of Academy Affairs and Director of the Publicity Department of CAA, and Director-General of the Art Museum Group, presided over the ceremony.

Mr. Yang Shouwei announced the commencement of the exhibition. Chairman of the Committee of Academy Affairs of CAA Jin Yibin, Dean of the School of Painting Art of CAA Wu Dayong, President of Zhejiang Academy of Oil Painting Chang Qing, and Mr. Qin Dahu delivered a speech at the ceremony.

Mr. Qin Dahu is an influential oil painter and educator in contemporary China, specializing in thematic art creation. He entered the Affiliated Middle School of the East China Branch (now CAA) of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 1956 and graduated from the Department of Oil Painting of Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts (now CAA) with a bachelor's degree in 1963. From 1985 until his retirement, Mr. Qin served as an oil painting instructor at the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts, exerting a significant influence on the oil painting education of CAA in the new era. In 2022, he donated 107 pieces/sets of oil paintings, watercolor paintings, sketches, quick sketches, and creative sketches to the Art Museum of CAA. The donation was included by China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism (MCT) as one of the "2022 China Artwork Collection and Donation Award Projects".

Opened at the Art Museum of CAA on July 3, 2023, the "Abundance in Patriotic Spirit: Art Documents of Qin Dahu" has been recognized by the MCT as a "2023 China Art Museum Collection Exhibition Project". It showcases more than 150 pieces/sets of Mr. Qin Dahu's artworks, including oil paintings, sketches, quick sketches, creative sketches, literature, and comic strips, in four sections, namely, "Years of Military Service", "Love for the Motherland", "Magnificent Landscape", and "Artistic Heritage". The exhibition uses multi-level documents and materials to comprehensively present Mr. Qin's unique perspectives as a native artist and educator, emphasizing the "people-oriented" visual impression of his works and creating an effective space for social aesthetic education with thematic art creation as the focus.

The exhibition will last through August 5.

A symposium took place at the exhibition hall following the opening ceremony.
