Zhu Xiaoyue, a graduate from the Mural Department of CAA’s School of Painting, presented her work “Uncertainty” at the graduation exhibition, earning her the gold award. This piece not only depicts delicate fragments of the artist’s daily life but also deeply reflects the complex and ever-changing mindset of contemporary youth. Its creative form oscillates between two-dimensional and three-dimensional spaces, leaning towards a free and unrestrained exploration of creation.

In the artwork, Zhu skillfully projects her personal spirit and psychological world into reality, using various materials to express the subtle relationship between “object” and “image”. Through this method, the artist and the viewers establish a close connection via the medium of the materials, allowing them to perceive the external visual characteristics of the work while also experiencing the artist's inner emotional expression. Her artistic language is imbued with rational logic, achieving a balance between visual and emotional expression.

The artwork “Uncertainty” is also a multidimensional extension of various art movements such as 20th-century Western collage art and pop art. This piece serves as a mirror, reflecting the trajectory of continuous innovation and evolution in the development of art, and stands as a vivid attempt at creation within the context of modern art.

As Zhu herself stated, “The essence of romance is uncertainty. Let’s embrace the present, focus on life, and love every uncertain moment that cannot be experienced again”. Through this statement, she reveals the profound meaning behind her work, emphasizing the importance of cherishing each unique and unrepeatable moment in the ever-changing flow of life. This philosophy not only permeates her artistic creation but also deeply resonates with every viewer.
