This department aims at the consolidation and “activation” research of ancient Chinese cultural heritage. The major’s direction is primarily based on the local cultural tradition, emphasizing the basic training of literature and art history, focusing on the system of ancient epigraphy literature and theory; secondarily drawing lessons from the western concept of Museology. It learns from the famous western experts and scholars of museums, participates in museum practice, explores the theory of art museums with local characteristics, and builds an important platform from which China can further develop public art, museums and art galleries.
