The Department represents the highest level of academic research and teaching of Chinese art history with certain international academic influences. It has undergraduate education as the basis, master’s and doctorate level education as the focus, to form a comprehensive education system. It adapts traditional basic theories, and methodology of art history to new situation of contemporary culture and improvement to the fields of art history. It strengthens academic prestige of the discipline, and creates a modern Chinese art history study and method ology as part of an academic discourse in the international mainstream.
