The Environmental Design program was initiated in 1984 and the department was established in 1989. The department was focused on architectural and environmental design. There are Landscape and Architectural Design Institutes and Dwelling Environment research lab. Inheriting traditional Chinese humanistic spirit, it studies the relationship between people and housing and the interaction between buildings, landscape and interior design. It aims to train landscape, architecture and interior designers by encouraging research and creativity.
