The school was established in May, 2019 with its forerunner of Center for Ideological and Political Theory Teaching and Research. The school focuses on research on marxist literary criticism, and aims for combing art education features with ideological and political theory teaching. It now has 12 full-time teachers, among them six are associate professors. It also has 4 distinguished Professors. It has four teaching and research offices on an introduction to the basic principles of Marxism, an Introduction to MAO Zedong Thought and the theoretical system of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, Essentials of Chinese Modern History and Ideological and moral cultivation and basic law education.
